If you live in or near Philadelphia, you might be interested in this great event benefiting pit bull rescue. I've donated some note cards for the auction, and know there will be lots of other great bully related stuff to bid on!
Of course, our thoughts and prayers are with all of the people affected by this tragedy. But as this is a blog focused on animal welfare and rescue, I thought I'd post this link to the Best Friends Haiti Animal Rescue donation page. If I trust anyone to get aid to the animals in need, it's Best Friends. Please pass the link along to any and all animal lovers in your life!
Well, the human to pet ratio in our house is now even. Calder James arrived at 6:09 AM on Monday, January 11. He's 100% healthy and happy. We are all feeling very grateful and blessed. And the Humane Society has another future volunteer!
In case you were wondering, we are in a holding pattern here. Baby boy is taking his time! My official due date is tomorrow (the 10th). I'll be sure to come back and post some pix of him after we get home from the hospital. For now though, here's an ultrasound pic, complete with chubby cheeks (this is at 36 weeks, so I'm sure those cheeks are even rounder now...)
I'm keeping busy by making some more fun sock dogs for the shop (and of course, another sock elephant)--still planning to reopen on February 12! Please don't forget about me. :)
