I finally got around to reading the Green Gables series of books by Lucy Maud Montgomery, and absolutely love them. They're just such a nice breather from the crazy world we live in today and make for a good summer escape.
So of course I had to make a dog in honor of Avonlea and all its captivating people and stories. Here she is!
I tried out the safety eyes for the first time and think they look pretty nifty. Guess I'll have to order more, in all kinds of crazy colors now. I like the buttons, but it's fun to try a slightly new look. What do you think?
We waited till the very last day of the fair to go--and we had so much fun! Sophie couldn't believe her eyes--there was so much to look at and do. Our first stop (like always) was the horse barns, where the beautiful and gigantic Percherons and Clydesdales are.
These photos just don't do justice to the size of these horses--they are literally like small elephants. Absolutely amazing.
Sophie on the midway.
Go, Sophie, Go!
The Clydesdales in action!
The 4-H craft exhibition. Talented kids!
The best fried green tomatoes on the planet! So good, but soooo bad.
We loved the bunnies--they're so darn adorable. (That said, I wouldn't want to be the one to clean the cage.)
I had to keep reminding her, "No fingers!"
Sophie with her treasures from the midway. Fun day!
Spent the day with these guys yesterday--in 100+ degree heat! I brought along a cooler filled with water and ice for me and the dogs. Only one of the pups was adopted--erg. I guess people aren't in the mood to make such a big decision when the weather is so miserable.
