Back to the shelter today to see my buddies. It's the one thing I do on my own all week (i.e. without Sophie) and I think I enjoy it as much as the dogs.
Howard is a Bluetick Coonhound who was wandering country roads for months...he was finally brought in after someone hit him with their car. Luckily, he wasn't injured, the poor guy. He's a big galoot. :)
I had to see my girl Abby. She's the kind of dog that will sit with you, look into your eyes and listen to whatever you have to tell her. She's also very playful and just a fun, loveable girl.
I thought I'd get a picture of me with Abby...it's a tricky thing to get her in the frame! I had to bribe her with treats, thus the drool. (On her, not me.)
Clarence is a sweet, slightly crazy beagle puppy. He likes to make strange noises that are best described as a scream/yodeling mix. Lovely! But he's really sweet, and just so eager to please.
The more I get to know Nisa, the more I'm convinced that she is an old soul. She just gives off this very wise vibe. I think maybe she was a poet in a past life...someone who hung out in beatnik bars and wore black. She also kind of looks like a creature out of Star Wars. I think she's pretty amazing.
